Idéalement situé au coeur de la vallée de l'Ourika (une des portes d'entrée du Haut-Atlas de Marrakech), en pleine forêt domaniale et à seulement 3/4 d'heure de la Ville Ocre, le Maquis a été créé dans les années 1940 par un résident corse, Mr Sanviti. D'où le nom ..... Maquis, la végétation environnante lui rappelant son île natale.

Depuis 1997, nous avons transformé cet ancien repaire de chasseurs de sangliers en une auberge familiale de 10 chambres confortables réparties sur les 5000 m2 de jardins.

Le temps d'une pause au bar, d'une halte au restaurant, ou d'un séjour à l'auberge vous apprécierez le calme et la beauté de notre vallée, luxuriante même en été ! A la belle saison, les repas se prennent au bord de la piscine et près du feu de cheminée dès qu'il fait frais !

Die Kasbah, in welcher sich das Hotel heute befindet, wurde 1944 erbaut und war bis 1973 bewohnt. Danach stand der Bau bis 1993 leer, blieb aber in seiner Substanz erhalten. 1994 wurde das Haus nach Plänen des bekannten Architekten Jamal E. Ghorafi renoviert. Das Haus wurde in seiner Struktur nicht verändert und dient heute als Hotel. Entsprechend dick sind die Mauern, welche im Sommer die Hitze abhalten und im Winter die Wärme konservieren.

With 360 degree panoramic views, Kasbah Bab Ourika receives warm sunlight all day, ending in spectacular sunsets. Guests can relax in individually decorated rooms with their own terraces or unwind by the secluded swimming pool.
Meals are served in the gardens or in the colonnaded restaurant or can be taken privately in the rooms or suites. The restaurant serves food that is freshly supplied daily from the surrounding villages. The chef specialises in traditional Berber recipes as well as international cuisine.

The Kasbah is one of the most eco-friendly buildings in Morocco. Constructed principally from Pise (rammed earth), the traditional Berber building technique, it blends easily with rock and earth around it.

Thick walls provide natural insulation in the heat and along with solar panels ensure a balanced temperature. All water at the Kasbah is recycled and used in the garden. An innovative biodigester system is to be used to produce electricity and also compost for the garden; the village below will also benefit.

Dar Imlil may not quite have the location of the Kasbah but it is wonderfully situated on the outskirts of Imlil village near the river and looks up toThe Kasbah and The Toubkal summit. It is about a 10 minute walk (500 meters) from the Kasbah and 5 minutes from the centre of Imlil.

The Toubkal Trekking Lodge is in the Azzadem Valley, a 4 hour walk from the Kasbah du Toubkal. It offers 3 en suite bedrooms all with bath. There is a shared lounge and terrace. This is a newconcept in trekking in the high Atlas.
